Finding Nemo’s cousin

Raja Ampat will always be one of those once in a life time dive trips. Though I would like to go there again so as to challenge the trope. The marine park with the maximum biodiversity means getting to see everything from a black manta (melanistic) to the smallest of slugs (Costaciella or Shuan the Sheep slug). And everything in between.

Clownfish and their symbiotic relationship with anemones (an-ene-mo-nene can never get it right) have been made stupidly famous by Pixar. Pixar can also thus be blamed the spike in the demand for Blue Tangs in household aquariums. This particularly joyous specimen pretty much reflects the behaviour of these fish IRL. Most Clownfish are timid yet curious creatures. They dart in and out of their anemone home as divers approach and if you manage to stay absolutely still for a while in front of the anemone, they will peep out. And smile.

But the internet is a dangerous place filled with rabbit holes so here’s a couple I ended up going down while writing this.

Peace Out.
